Event Details

This Spring Break, take a break...from reality!

Drawing inspiration from this year's Big Read selection, A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin, teens can come to the library for a writing workshop focused on producing short stories in the fantasy genre. Participants will brainstorm, write and polish their stories.

Finished pieces can be entered into a library contest with a chance to e-publish their work through Pioneer Library System.

You might like this program if:

  • You like to write or would like to learn more about writing.
  • You have an active (some may say crazy) imagination,
  • and/or you want to hang out with friends at the library and come up with wild ideas together,
  • and/or you like role-playing games and fantasy-related games (although this is not necessary).
  • You want to see your name in print!
  • You're bored and want something fun to do over the break.
